www.3dcadbooks.com goes live
July 30, 2007
WTWH Media, LLC announces a new site addition to the 3DCAD community with the launching of www.3dcadbooks.com, a book resource site for design engineers engaged in software design from CAD - CAM - FEA.
We have plans and development projects that will continue to support the challenge for engineers to design projects better, faster and under budget. 3dcadbooks.com represents a necessary site to aid in this mission.
www.3dcadbooks.com is supported with the most extensive dedicated 3dcad community consisting of 3dcadtips.com, 3dcadtutorials.com, 3dcadsearch.com, and 3dcadforums.com. This is a natural brand extension to the fastest growing segment of the CAD community.
A special thanks to Don LaCourse and his team for their support and direction on this project.

Welcome Dave - and late welcome to Larry
July 22, 2007
The fastest growing OEM design publication and web community has added additional personnel to help fuel our continued growth. We are fortunate to welcome both Larry Boulden and Dave Miyares to our team.
Larry worked for a Cleveland based media company for most of his career on both the editorial and business sides of publishing. As a degreed mechanical engineer, Larry’s career began on the editorial desk and later moved into the business management side of publishing with publishing positions in the automation, controls, mrp, and cad/cae market.
Larry can be reached at lboulden@designworldonline.com. He is returning to his roots covering fluid power and cad/cae editorial topics and adding a few tips to Mike and I about running a media business. A couple side notes, I worked for Larry in the late 90’s when he was publisher of CAE. Additionally, I also worked with his son Jeff on American Machinist. Larry also hired Leslie Langnau our managing editor - so it’s a small world after all. Welcome Larry and sorry for the late welcome.
Just as our print publication continues to grow, we are experiencing an increased demand for web based products. With lots of exciting news coming, we’ve added Dave Miyares to our team. Dave entered business to business publishing 8+ years ago starting in the circulation department designing web based subscription forms in the late 90’s. He quickly moved to the OEM design market where he and I met sharing a strong passion for new ideas leveraging web tools. He most recently carried the title of OPDM ( I think)…someting like Online Product Development Manager. Dave joined us last week and immediately jumped into web development and code mode. We joked that he spent most of the first day just finding his way around our office and watching the company video. I guess you could say inside joke. Dave’s email is dmiyares@designworldonline.com; he is based in our growing Cleveland office.
Both Larry and Dave play instrumental roles on our team and we are elated to have them on our team.

Lots going on at WTWH Media, LLC
July 5, 2007
Almost a year ago Mike and I quit our day jobs to pursue launching and developing Design World Magazine and www.designworldonline.com.
We are going to have a busy summer with plenty of cool news coming out regarding the growth, strategic partnerships and surprising marketing opportunities associated with Design World . In a former life, the summer might have been a good time for me to hone my golf game or train for a triathlon; this year it will be all about DW.
First order of business is to formerly announce that we have applied for our BPA audit. You’ll see the listing at www.bpaww.com - use the search bar and type in Design World (registration is required). Under a separate post, we’ll attach the formal announcement letter. Note to self, to check with BPA on why they have us listed under engineering and construction - not sure how that happened. Details.
We have more news coming and this blog will be the first place you’ll see, learn, and hear about the Design World developments.
Stay tuned,
Willing and having to work harder,
Scott

Quickparts’ offerings include: Stereolithography (SLA), PolyJet, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM).
Engineering Resources Update
July 5, 2007
Since the Cayenne release June 14 and addition of new Engineering Resource pages, around 30 new categories have been created. Although just the beginning, we’re pleased to be able to quickly create, add relevant content, and start building the foundations. Content on these pages includes relevant supplier listings, sizing tools, links to 3D resources, e commerce, targeted RSS ‘widget’ engineering news, the latest Design World Magazine editorial and product releases by topic, video, and heaps of custom features.
