Syndication Reach

March 10, 2008

With Design World syndication across MCAD Central, 3CADTips, Tutorials, and others - the reach of a single press release is amplified. All PR that comes into DW is re-distributed for further impact. As an example, a release from igus on mini polymer bearings was viewed and additional 846 times over the past 30 days. A tight headline and concise information is key, as many RSS readers display just the title and a short summary. If this grabs a reader, the better chance they will read the entire release.

Value of Design World Online News Channel

November 6, 2007

As Marshall noted in his last post our syndication efforts are delivering big rewards for our RSS feed. In addition to the exposure, there are a number of hidden SEO benefits from our online editorial postings -

1. With every online post we try to link our pr back to your site for more information. While some might say old school SEO, it still provides relevant content linking from a site with a page rank of 5 and growing - which is good for you and your site.

2. We try and edit the text and headline of the pr as it comes through (that’s why we ask for a word doc) - the value here is that Google recognizes it as fresh content and subsequently posts it higher on the organic listings - making it easier to find on when one searches:

Check this out: if you take the recent posting from Design World online:

HEIDENHAIN Offers Bearingless Angle Encoders

Copy the headline into your google search bar - and there it is as top on the organic search terms for that release - even higher than the supplier’s own online posting.

If you are looking to expand your media reach, we can and will make a difference for you.

Willing to work harder, Scott

Submitting new product releases and press releases

September 15, 2007

At a recent meeting with our editorial team the topic of new product release information was discussed. The really great news is that we are experiencing a high volume of new product considerations for print and and web posting. Please keep them coming and Design World in mind.

Here’s some best practices tips when submitting new product information and pr to Design World:

1. We prefer receiving word documents.

2. If sending a PDF, we suggest that the pdf be unlocked to edit the release. Also, please see tip above.

3. Preferred format for photos is jpeg.

4. When sending the jpeg do not embed it into the word , please send the jpeg and word document together in the email.
By following these best practices, we’ll be able to quickly respond to your new product for print and web consideration.

Thanks a bunch,

WTWH, Scott
